    Gratin Dauphinois (Potatoes au gratin)

    Servings: 6
    Preparation time: 10 minutes
    Cooking time: 55 minutes

    Ingredients:

  • 2.5 pounds of potatoes
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 tbs of crushed garlic
  • 1 tbs of butter
  • salt and pepper


  • Directions

    Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices.
    Heat milk and cream without boiling.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix eggs and warm milk into a bowl.
    Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    Mix butter and garlic and use it to grease 9" glass dish.
    Put potatoes and cheese in layers.
    Pour the milk on top.
    Place the dish into the microwave oven and cook on high heat for 10 minutes.
    Then bake in regular oven for 45 minutes at 400 degrees F.
